The tale of the election of four barons, namely Lady Iximaz, Baron PC, Baron Thanasius Ampelius, and Baron Kaitlyn, is one of the more recent tales of Konti-Nyuum. It provides the civilians and knights of Plort with a view of the lives of the barons.

The tale has been widely praised, and just as widely repeated and retold, until many tellings bear little resemblence to the facts of history. The worst distortions are found in the comedic play The Eagle's Shadows, and the erotic novel Baronial Bunk-Beds, but even supposedly-faithful retellings differ from the true facts.
