The post of Protector is the highest in the isle of Konti-Nyuum. It refers to both a military and political leader. No one person has ever held the title; rather, in the three eras of Plort's history, it has been a joint title.
- Originally the post was held by Jay and Acacia, who are the only ones referred to as 'the Protector(s)'.
- Later, the three Triumvirs were referred to as holding a joint Protectorship.
- Finally, in both the Union of Plort and the Protectorate of Borrd, the Protectorship is held jointly by the Council of Plort and the Council of Borrd, respectively.
The rulers of Ozerbord, (Baron Huinesoron, followed by Sir Tomash), also claims the title of 'Lord Protector'. This, however, is a separate use of the term: see Protector of Ozerbord.
